Meet Our New Employee

Andy Olsen is the new Precision Ag Advisor in the Harlan office. He grew up south of Minden, Iowa on the family farm. He currently farms corn, soybeans, and alfalfa with his Dad. They also have a cow calf operation that keeps them pretty busy. Andy went to college at IWCC and got an Associates of Applied Science degree. He also studied Aviation Maintenance Technology and received an A&P License. Before HTS Ag, Andy worked as an aircraft mechanic for 3 years, and also worked in the ethanol industry as a mechanic for 7 years. In Andy’s spare time he loves to go camping with his wife, Brandy, and his 6 month old daughter, Brailey. He also enjoys fishing local lakes whenever he goes camping.

Changes in Ag Leader Technical Support Hours

Ag Leader is changing their technical support hours for customers starting February 15, 2016. Their support hours will now be Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Ag Leader will no longer be offering after-hours, weekend and holiday technical support.

One of the benefits of an HTS Ag Service Plan is that we do offer after-hours and weekend support at no charge exclusively to our service plan customers. Our phone support hours are 7am to 10pm Monday through Saturday and Noon to 6pm on Sunday.

Take advantage of more data with Split Screen Advanced Seed Monitoring. Utilizing the map screen for visual performance data, you can see where a problem started and on what row to make the proper machine changes to save yield. Get even more in-depth information through graphical representations of each individual row.

Spring Storage Is Critical for High Moisture Grain

As outdoor temperatures warm up in the spring, the spoilage risk of stored grain, particularly high moisture grain, increases rapidly. Condensation is often noticed in the grain bins where the grain was cooled below freezing temperatures during winter months. Stored grain requires regular monitoring during the spring months and high moisture grain should be dried as quickly as possible to prevent spoilage.

Spoilage can be prevented for high moisture grain if the grain condition is monitored and corrective action is taken immediately.
